The IISS maintains an extensive fleet of ships to help execute its multiple
missions of exploration, astrography, mail service, and the taking of the
Imperial Census. The Service needs a variety of different ships, boats,
X-boats and tenders to complete this mission. A sample of standardized
ships of the fleet is described below.
